Abstract

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems rely on expanding the number of antennas to minimize user interference. The expansion in antennas requires additional physical space for antenna arrays. This article proposes to optimize the positioning of elements in non-uniform linear and non-uniform planar arrays, aiming to minimize the interference reduction factor and reduce the array's physical footprint. The findings indicate a potential reduction of 29% in length for linear arrays and 38% in area for planar arrays.
