Abstract

The effects of the windup phenomenon are an issue yet to be faced. They usually occurs in the Sliding Mode Control framework due to the integral control action included within the sliding mode surface of the controller. In such scenario, it is proposed two anti-windup algorithms in order to reboot the integral action without affecting the behavior on the control action. Simulations results show that the proposed algorithms overcome the windup problem when they are applied to an industrial process with variable dead-time. Finally, the control performance in terms of the ISE index can be enhanced up to 15.28% when using the proposed anti-windup algorithms.
