Abstract

This paper presents the design of linear and nonlinear controllers applied in bioreactor control. Two bioreactors are used, one bioreactor for product concentration control, and the other one for temperature control. Four different schemes of nonlinear PID controllers are compared. Tracking and disturbances rejection tests are carried out on the designed controllers and their behavior is evaluated through performance indexes.
