Abstract
This paper introduces an integrated control framework that combines Fuzzy Multi-Model Control (FMMC) with Sliding Mode Control (SMC) to tackle the challenges posed by long time delays in chemical processes. The control design uses a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model, where each rule defines a local linear model. This enhances the robustness and responsiveness of SMC under varying conditions. The proposed method shows better adaptability to dynamic changes and non-linear behaviors, offering improved performance in both steady-state and transient conditions compared to traditional SMC controller.
