Abstract

This document presents the simulation for sliding mode control schemes for dead-time systems using the hardware in the loop technique. The control is applied to the temperature of a heating tank with continuous agitation. MATLAB is used as a simulation tool for the aforementioned plant, which is emulated inside a computer and receives the control actions from the Arduino microcontroller using serial communication employing the described hardware in the loop technique. The implementation specifications of the chosen controllers are also detailed.
