Abstract

A sliding-mode controller (SMCr) synthesised using concepts of internal model control (IMC) is presented. an advantage of this method is a reduction of the inverse response effect by a feedback compensation element, proper of the IMC scheme. The performance and robustness of the proposed controller was tested and compared with a previous SMCr designed for inverse response systems (Camacho et al., 1999). The test was done by means of computer simulations through a linear model and the Van de Vusse reactor.
