On the design of truncated t-type power dividers for x-band with SIW technology

Abstract

In this paper, the compact design of a broadband 4-outputs power divider based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide technology operating in X-band frequency and that provides equal power distribution in all output ports is presented. The divider was designed, simulated, and optimized using CST MicrowaveStudio. An important factor that was considered in the SIW design was the transitions required to achieve an adequate impedance coupling between the truncated T-type power divider in SIW and the structure to be connected (Microstrip, SMA connectors). For verification, the proposed T-type power divider was fabricated using SIW technology and the results were compared with simulations obtained using CST Microwave Studio, confirming that the design works as expected.
