Abstract

In this paper, the design and implementation of a three-phase multilevel inverter NPC topology with phase-disposition PWM modulation are presented. This work describes step-by-step the process that was carried out to build a multilevel converter, taking into account all the considerations and solutions to the different inconveniences that appeared in the process. The results show that the system, which can operate at different operating voltage and frequency points, works correctly. This technology will enable the development of advanced control strategies in a variety of future applications, including machine control, industrial applications, the integration of renewable energy sources into the electrical grid, or traction applications.
