Abstract

The present work proposes the implementation of a robust PID controller based on sliding modes control concepts in the Hovorka glucose-insulin model for three different patients in three separate food intake scenarios; the results obtained are validated by comparing the ISE and ISCO performance index between the proposed controller and a traditional PID controller.
