Sliding Mode Control Based on a Generalized Reduced Fractional Order Model: Theoretical Approach

Abstract

This work proposes a fractional sliding mode controller designed from a fractional FOPDT model of the real process. The new approach can be applied to nonlinear chemical processes. The controller design uses the power of Fractional Order Calculus to describe and represent the real chemical systems as a reduced order model and from it apply the sliding mode control procedure to develop the controller.
