Abstract
This paper presents the synthesis of a sliding mode controller based on a hybrid surface (SMC-HS) as an alternative to improve the performance of the traditional SMC in its transient response. The combination of two sliding surfaces is carried out in order to obtain the advantages of both. Through reset actions, the use of one or other surface is prioritized. The improvement offered by the proposal is quantified by performance indexes when the new controller is tested in a non-linear, self-regulating model.
