Abstract

This paper investigates self-regulating linear systems with delays in both inputs and outputs, assessing the consequences of such delays in actuation channels and transmitters on the performance of control systems. The approach begins with an analysis of a first-order plus deadtime (FOPDT) model using Bode diagrams. The study includes simulations for evaluation, culminating in several observations and conclusions. The results obtained from this study give an initial understanding of the impacts of delays on control systems, setting the stage for improving the efficiency of future work to study dead-time compensators and other hybrid methods to improve performance.
