Voices of the Forest: Guides in My Journey through Primatology and Conservation

I love listening to the music of the forest; it makes me feel alive and brings me peace. I enjoy isolating each sound, each voice, while still hearing the entire concert, and I am always amazed by its complexity and beauty. The music of the forest is life. The wind blowing through the trees, the raindrops hitting the leaves, the songs of birds and frogs, the dialects of pygmy marmosets, the voices of people, … are all part of an incredibly diverse soundscape that is lost when we destroy the forests. Allegro, andante, moderato… this is the story of my relationship with the primates and many other voices of the forest, of my learning journey to respect and value the contribution of each voice to harmony and blending, to conserve the forests and their music.
