Resumen
This paper proposes a dead time compensator based on a combination of the linear algebra control methodology (proposed by Scaglia, 2009) and an internal model structure (Smith predictor), to solve elevated dead time system problems. Moreover, the process transfer function of the nonlinear system linearized at some operation point is approximated by a second order plus dead time transfer function. The controller performance is judged by simulations and it is evaluated using the ISE performance index. We compared this approach against a typical DTC-PID controller with improved results.
