N2 - This work presents the design of a controller capable of regulating, simultaneously, the output voltage and current. For this purpose, a Linear Algebra Based Controller (LABC) is applied on a bidirectional buck-boost converter (BBBC) used to charge a Li-ion battery. First, it is reviewed the state of the art of control techniques applied in the BBBC. Then, the design of the proposed LABC for power converters. Lastly, in the simulation results and analysis section, the LABC is compared against a typical PI cascaded scheme, there is possible to observe the advantages that the proposal offers considering performance and practicality. LABC adjusts properly with power management topics and can bring important features to the power electronics field.
