Resumen
This article studies how Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is regulated in Mexico. For this purpose, the methodology of analysis of theoretical studies or literature review was used. The regulatory regime of EPR was addressed, identifying the principles set forth by international environmental law that are applicable to it, and a search was made in the federal legislation and in the law of each state regarding waste treatment, whether it is regulated and how it is regulated. It was found that at the federal level there is no regulation and at the local level only 25% of the states regulate Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
