Resumen
A design technique for the imbedding networks of arbitrary pin-diodes, to be used as variable resistors is presented. It is shown that an arbitrary diode can produce the desired results and that the only limiting factor in the diode performance is its quality factor. Design guidelines, a design example, and simulation and measured results for a 2.4 GHz non-reflecting, voltage controlled, variable attenuator utilizing the imbedding networks for pin-diodes are presented.
