Resumen

The COVID-19 pandemic caused considerable issues for various industries, including the tourism sector, which has likely been the most affected. Thus, to recover from it, the tourism industry has explored new technologies for streamlining its supply chains. One potential area is the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, which can boost the travelers’ experiences and reinvigorate this industry. This article presents a literature review examining how Industry 4.0 technologies have been or could be adapted to the tourism supply chain to assist with the industry’s regeneration, and discusses various, real and perceived, barriers of their adoption, with strategies to mitigate them.
